Raymond W. Scott
Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Axolotl Corporation

"Two RHIOs using Axolotl's Elysium HIE recently participated in the demonstration of a proposed architecture for a nationwide healthcare information network ... as a participant in the Northrop Grumman consortium. As recommended by the Markle Foundation's Connecting for Health, the requirement to have no centralized registry or data repository was central to all of the architectural decisions."

In early 1995, Ray acted as a consultant with Vanguard Atlantic to co-found Axolotl, establish its business plans, and define its product set. Following the successful deployment of Axolotl's products in Santa Cruz County, California, Ray continued to lead the company through its developmental stages up to its current position as a leading provider of Web based applications and Transcription Services to the healthcare industry. Its Elysium solutions allow hospitals to integrate medical record completion, management, distribution, and access across vendors, hospital departments and physicians.

From 1991 to 1995, Ray held EVP and CEO positions for European software companies, Computer Concepts Europe and ECsoft. He helped built the latter company from a startup and took it public in 1996. His role included corporate strategy and marketing, and building one of the first fully automated technical support and development centers to span Europe.

Prior to that, Ray was Managing Director of MJSL from 1984 to1990, during which time he transformed it from a 1970s methodology/structured programming company into a modern CASE consulting and products company. Ray personally directed the development of the Jackson products and pioneered the use of object-oriented techniques for experiment and development.

From 1974 to 1984, Ray held the posts of Research Fellow and Principal Scientific Officer at the Harwell Computer Science & Systems Laboratory, the UK atomic energy agency. During this time he managed many large technology projects involving advanced software development, including the development of the first criminal intelligence computer system for New Scotland Yard.

Ray was employed as a mathematician for the UK Ministry of Defense from 1968 to 1974, where he worked on the flight prediction and control of rockets and shells.

Ray holds a B.Sc. (honors) in Mathematics, is a Member of the British Computing Society, a Chartered Engineer and has served on the boards of both public and private companies.
