Janet M. Marchibroda Chief Executive Officer, eHealth Initiative and Steering Group Member, Connecting for Health Janet Marchibroda is the Chief Executive Officer of the eHealth Initiative and the Foundation for eHealth Initiative, both Washington, D.C.-based national non-profit organizations whose missions are to improve the quality, safety and efficiency of healthcare through information and information technology. The eHealth Initiative is a multi-stakeholder member organization representing providers, payers, health care information technology suppliers, practicing clinician organizations, and manufacturers, with interests in improving healthcare through IT to better serve the needs of patients. The work of both organizations is focused on three critical areas: increasing awareness of the role of IT in improving health and healthcare; laying the foundation for an "interconnected, electronic health information infrastructure" by promoting the adoption of standards; demonstrating both the feasibility and the value of an interconnected, electronic healthcare system at the national and local level; and building the case for public and private sector incentives that promote health and better healthcare enabled by IT. Ms. Marchibroda also serves as the Executive Director of Connecting for Health - an initiative funded and led by the Markle Foundation-which is designed to catalyze actions on a national basis to create an interconnected, electronic health information infrastructure.  |
