Ned McCulloch, JD.
Chair, Policy Committee, Data Standards Working Group, Connecting for Health

Ned McCulloch is Senior Program Manager in IBM's Government Programs Office where he is responsible for issues related to health, life sciences, research and development, education and emerging technologies. He is the Chair of the Policy and Advocacy Committee of the eHealth Initiative which brings together over 50 companies that provide eHealth tools to the healthcare sector. Mr. McCulloch also cochairs the Medication Error Reduction Coalition -- a coalition of rural hospitals, academic health centers, other providers, purchasers, insurers, professional organizations and labor unions, and accrediting organizations seeking funding for medication error reduction systems. Finally, he chairs the Corporate Advocacy Committee of ASTRA, the Alliance for Science & Technology Research in America.

He previously was Counsel to Senator Lieberman responsible for Health and Social Policy. While on Senator Lieberman's staff, Mr. McCulloch worked on a broad range of domestic issues ranging from health care quality to welfare to social security.

Ned McCulloch also worked as a lobbyist on health care reform and other health and public employee issues for the Service Employees International Union and on poverty issues for ACORN -- a group that represents low-income communities.

In addition to working for a Connecticut Senator, Ned McCulloch was born and raised in Connecticut, worked in that state's legislature on the Human Services Committee, graduated from Yale University and has a law degree from the University of Connecticut School of Law.

He is married and has two children.
